What's Going On?!!

I should probably say what in the world is going on?!! Everything seems to be falling apart. Not just in one geographical location but the world. Since I have been alive there has always been a war somewhere. That is something to think about, throughout my life there has always been a war somewhere! Writing it terrifies me more. Now terror is the new weapon. Think about the word "terror". When I think of a horror movie I think of terror. Has life turned into one great big horror movie? Some would argue there are more good days than bad, and they would be correct. I believe in a war, fighting is not constant and everyday, so it could also be argued that war has it's good days as well as bad. Thank God I have personally never had to go to war, (Not counting women in my life) and my sons have never had to experience that horror. I believe in the bible and I believe that Jesus is our lord and saviour. I also believe that to appreciate anything you have to learn how to appreciate it. What I mean is when you're hungry and you eat. Think if you were stranded somewhere with no food. Think about when you're thirsty and you have no water. When it's cold and you have no heat. You learn to appreciate. I titled this "What's Going On". Not expecting an answer nor having one. I feel as if I'm living in a world of too many dignitaries and not enough common people. Some of the decision making from leaders in the world are absurd. I marvel at how an adult can make a decision that has no merit, no understanding and makes absolutely no sense! The world is made up of people not political parties. If you belong to a political party and some one else belongs to a different party, what really is the problem? If our ideas are different and there is no compromise let's shake hands have a beer and improve the world. To me violence is never a solution. It's a very last resort and to me it's only if I am being invaded. But there are "adults", I stress the word "adults" that will see violence as the only answer. And that answer is only to say, "you better see it my way or I'll bomb you". When you think about the threat that is upon us all it's violence and destruction. I feel as if some one is saying, "Let's keep them all in line with the threat of annihilation". Police action has gotten out of control. I realize you can't please everyone and there are people who are selfish and only care about themselves. I am not looking at the world from a naive point of view. And I am also not looking at the world from a robotic point of view either. No one can tell me it's raining outside when actually it's a bright sunny day. Protecting the public is not by telling the public lies. And please do not try and tell me in the interest of my own safety I do not need to know. Because if it is in the interest of my own safety I definitely need to know. Anyway I'm not really going anywhere with this, it's just a way for me to vent and write about What's Going On in my head. Baby Momma Drama FOR REAL!!!...(With help from her family)

No matter how many times our mothers may say..."Be careful dealing with that girl she don't look right."  Well I learned the hard way mom was right.

 My sons mom is absolutely out of her mind and not only is she out of her mind but her brother, her mother, and her sister are just as crazy.

 I have never ran across a FAMILY that was crazy. It might be one or two people, maybe a cousin, but nothing like this. I know some people (especially women) may say well was she crazy when you were making a baby. And my answer is a resounding.... YES!!!!

So I guess I derserve what I get or got. That's what my mom says.

 I am trying to figure out a way to explain what I mean by crazy. I will put down some things that happened and let you be the judge.

Crazy #1:  Her Brother Eric

My son is 16 yrs old his uncle Eric is 40 something.  When my son was I think 8 or 9 his mom (Cynthia) and her brother (Eric) were living together. My son had a bunch of toys and I purchased most of them.

I'm being nice I purchased damn near all of them. Anyway Eric felt like the apartment they were living in was getting to crowded and he decided to make space.

He gathered all of my sons toys, WHICH HE HAD NOT BOUGHT ONE TOY and he sold them.

 I found out he got about $300 dollars from selling them and didn't give my son 1 penny. I didn't know he had sold them and my son eventually told me his toys had been sold.

Livid doesn't even begin to describe how I felt.  I had a conversation as nice as I could with his mother and she told me she didn't like what her brother did either, but yet and still she did nothing. My son actually saved Eric a beating, but that's another story.

But that's an old story,something more recent. Christmas (12-25-2015).

 My son is the go-for of that family he is the one who always has to get something from the kitchen or basement or anyplace.

His cousin Xavier who is 23 or 24 yes old TOLD, not ask, but TOLD my 16 yr old son to put some bottled water in the refrigerator. My son told him why don't you do it!?  Xavier said, "because I have a plate in my hand."

 My son is not a fast thinker but when he was telling me this story I said he should have told Xavier, "Then put the plate down!"

My son said he wished he had thought to say that.  Anyway my sons grandfather stepped in and told my son to put the bottled water in the refrigerator. So my son reluctantly starts doing so.

Imagine bending over picking up the water and placing it in the refrigerator.

Eric comes into the kitchen and sees my son putting water in the fridge. As my son is bending over he walks over to my son turns around so his back-side is in my sons face and this dumb stupid azz 40-something yr old man farts!!

In my sons face.

My son screams at him, "Man that was foul!"

This goofy Mr. Ed looking dude starts laughing. He thinks that's funny.

My family right now wants to put a hurtin on this guy. This guy I believe stays in hiding because when I see him.....anyaway, I ask my son, "Why didn't you tell your mom what he did."

He said, "She wouldn't have done anything."

I called her and left her a message on her cell phone letting her know once again as nice  as I could how I felt about it.

Some of you may be wondering why I don't call Eric, the smart ones reading this will know a COWARD azz man will not pick up the phone a COWARD azz man will not face a MAN. And Eric is a COWARD azz boy,   Anyway let me get to the conclusion.

My sons mom has a talk with my son and let's him listen to the voicemail message I left. Basically she just asks my son what happened and that's it.

 From what my son told me she never had a conversation with her brother about doing something that foul and nasty.

How a 40 something yr old man could do that to a 16 yr old, his nephew yet, and think it's funny is beyond me.

 Fast forward a few days later. My son and his mom are riding in her truck. My son farts in the truck. His mom calls him a hypocrite because he didn't like Eric farting in his face but he (my son) farts in her truck.

He called me and told me this a few minutes after she said that to him.

I said to my son, " YOU DIDNT FART IN SOME ONES FACE!!!"

My son feels that no matter what her family does to him she will ALWAYS be against him and be on her brothers and sisters side.

I've said enough but writing this is good therapy for me.

The list of things they have done to my son is very very long. I'm talking 16 yrs worth and the things they have done are unbelievable.

I should add she does have one more brother his name is Chris he's the youngest and he is the only one out of them that is straight up. He sees things the way they are. It's funny how the last one is the smartest.

 There will be more coming as I write about each one of these crazy azz people.  This is just one of the things Eric has done to my son. I will write about them all and then I will move onto his aunt Felicia.

A Great Money Making System....To Me

A friend of mine called me in November to tell me about what he thought was a great money making opportunity. Now this friend of mine is what I call a "searcher", he is constantly on the look-out for money making opportunities. He's called me about a couple of things and because he is my friend I listen to him.

He started off telling me he found something that is so incredible and blah..blah...blah. One word caught my attention and that word was "Gold". He went on to ask me if I wanted to save gold and get paid to do it. 

Right away (being the skeptic that I am) I said to myself, "yeah right, here we go". He asked me if I knew about the power of "2". I said "what's that", he asked me if some one came to me and asked me if I wanted 1 million dollars in 30 days or $100,000 dollars in 30 days or if I wanted a penny doubled everyday for 30 days which one would I take. 

Of course I said a million dollars, he asked me why I wouldn't take the penny. I said because a million dollars is worth more than a penny doubled everyday for 30 days. He told me to double a penny everyday and see which was more, so I did. I multiplied a penny by 2, i.e. .01 x 2:

I was like o.k. cute trick. He said it was not a trick. I said ok what does this have to do with gold? 

He then went on to tell me about this system involving a company called Karatbars. He told me about the amount of money one could make,. that was all fine and good but I asked "what do I have to do"? 

Then he lowered the boom, he said well you get 2 people and they get 2 people and etc...etc...etc. I said immediately "that sounds like a pyramid". He said it has a pyramid structure but it's affiliate marketing. 

Now I'm rolling my eyes in my head and I just want to get off the phone. But because he is my friend I listen some more. 

He starts talking to me about the value of the dollar and how gold will always have more value than the dollar. And how affordable the gold is when you buy it from this company. But what really got me was he started showing me information on the internet about the gold standard in the U.S. 

For the people who don't know (besides me) there is no gold standard in the U.S. He further showed me how in '71 Richard Nixon took the U.S. off of the gold standard. 

So now I ask what does that mean? He said that the U.S. has nothing to back up it's currency. He had me look at a dollar bill and at the top it says federal reserve note. Then he asked me what gave the note value. There was nothing I could say. 

He further explained that gold is what gave the U.S. currency it's value and that now the dollar was only worth what a person made it out to be. 

For example 5 dollars is only worth 5 dollars because a person thinks it is. Now I'm going...hmmm. 

I just didn't jump in right away I started looking and researching the plight of the dollar and how other countries viewed the dollar. I won't boor you with my findings just let me say it was an eye opener. 

He got my curiosity aroused. He sent me to a website called U.S. National Debt Clock: Real Time  I then went to a tab that is on the bottom labeled Gold Supply/Demand. Needless to say I had a concern about my dollars. 

He further explained to me how this was not investing in gold but simply saving gold. The same as a savings account at a bank. For example, if I save $100 dollars every month now I would be saving small grams of gold every month. 

Anyway there is more to it and it would take a lot more time than I have right now to put it in this post. But I did join and I will keep a journal here of how good or bad I am doing and the amount of time I am investing.

Collective Bargaining For Student Athletes: Yes or No

Recently here in Illinois a local university (Northwestern) lost a court case concerning whether or not student athletes should be considered employees of the school. And the student athletes won! I was very surprised at some of the reactions I received from  people that I know. The majority of the people I talked to disagree with the outcome.

I am not in that group.

I think they should be considered employees and I think they should get paid! Let me enlighten the unenlightened, the following is a article I found concerning the agreement, to me it says it all:

........Northwestern's scholarship football players should be eligible to form a union based on a number of factors, including the time they devote to football (as many as 50 hours some weeks), the control exerted by coaches and their scholarships, which Mr. Ohr deemed a contract for compensation.

"It cannot be said that the employer's scholarship players are "primarily students,'" the decision said.

the ruling comes at a time when the NCAA and its largest conferences are generating billions of dollars, primarily from football and men's basketball.  The television contract for the new college football playoff system is worth $7.3 billion over 10 years, and the current deal to broadcast the men's basketball tournament is worth $10.8 billion over 14 years.

To me it's ridiculous how schools have the nerve to want to make this public. They should just be quiet about it and do what's right. I guess I am a little biased by this, having been a former student athlete.

 I'm not even going to put my argument in this post about why I agree with the decision made in favor of the student athlete, because if I did I would never end this post. Schools and coaches have been making money off of student athletes for a very long time. 

I will mention one argument that was presented to me. It was "the athletes are getting a free education". I mentioned Dexter Manley a former NFL football player who could not read yet he went to Oklahoma State University. How did he even get in the school and couldn't read, I'll tell you why because most of the schools out here want revenue, money, it's called greed and they don't want to share it with the athletes who are getting it for them. 

So don't give me that crap of getting a free education, there are probably more student athletes that got pushed through and given a pass than the ones who actually went to class and busted their rear ends to get out. 

So now the schools are appealing the decision. I hope they lose and I hope that this will set off a domino effect for all the student athletes to come together and say to these big time universities...PAY UP!!!

Raising Kids: What's Next!!??

I just received a call from the 8th grade principal of my sons school. He started off saying it was a delicate matter and that another parent called him and was very upset. The rumor going around the school was that a 8th grade girl performed fellatio on an 8th grade boy.

The rumor started by the 8th grade boy telling my son this happened at a basketball game. My son then went and told one of his friends and then the rumor spiraled out of control until it reached the 8th grade girls mom. Needless to say the mom of the 8th grade girl was livid. The principle called me and told me he was trying to get to the bottom of this as far as trying to find out who started this whole "mess".

He questioned the 8th grade boy who told him he did not tell my son the girl was going to perform fellatio on him. He said he told my son the girl was going to give him a kiss. The principal then questioned my son who told him "that was different" as far as the answer the 8th grade boy gave the principal. My son then went on and told the principal the 8th grade boy sent him a text message saying the fellatio part. My son also told him he didn't know if he had deleted the message from his phone. The principal wanted my permission to see if he could retrieve the message from my sons phone.

It all ended well (at least for me and my son) because the 8th grade boy did finally confess and say he did tell my son that about the 8th grade girl. The most surprising thing about this to me was how, at such a young age, kids can distort and spread rumors. I am angry with my son  for telling anyone something like that.

I am curious about one thing. The principal asked my son which parent he wanted him to call his mom or his dad. He chose me (his dad) I am writing this while at work and I have not had a chance to talk with him about this yet, and he most assuredly knows he will get a good talking to when I get home. Now I'm curious about what else my  winged angel, halo wearing son is doing once he leaves the comfort of his home. WHAT'S NEXT!!!!

The Search

It seems that there is a lot of turmoil and disasters happening everyday. There is a financial crisis worldwide, everyone is (or should be) trying to find a way to make things better for their families as well as themselves. Everyone seems to be trying to find answers. Where do you search to find solutions for the many questions we face in life? Where do you go to find peace? Searching within yourself will give you all the answers you are looking for. There is a light in all of us we are born with it, there is an undeniable spirit in us all. Soul searching is what we all do at one time in our lives. Truth abounds in us all, it's facing that truth that sometimes leaves us confused. The worst thing any of us can do is lie to ourselves, self evaluation is probably one of the toughest things we have to face in our lives. It will sadden us or make us happy. Being a nurturing parent I tell my kids to never lie to themselves. If you are totally honest to yourself I believe life becomes simpler. Always search yourself with honesty and humility and a peace will come upon you that you never thought could happen. A warmthness will occur that will surprise you. With all the seemingly impossible obstacles around us that we face in our lives the search within ourselves will always bring a solution to whatever turmoils and troubles we face. We just have to remember that when we do need a solution all we have to do is the search.
